What exactly is Big Strong Summer 2013?
BSS13 is a strength & conditioning camp dedicated to helping Middle School athletes (grades 7 & 8 as of fall 2013) achieve improved strength, speed & physical endurance through a proven program which focuses on form, function, and safety.
Who may attend Big Strong Summer 2013?
BSS13 is open to all young men & women who will be attending Middle School (grades 7 & 8) in the Fall of 2013.
Is this camp just for football players?
No. This camp is designed for any Middle Schoolers wanting to achieve better health and fitness for the upcoming school year.
When will classes be held?
At this point we will have 1 class (extra classes may be added based on enrollment/subject to change) over 6 weeks meeting 3 days per week (M,W,F). It is only advised that you attend 1 class per day. Getting fit requires adequate recovery for best results…more than 1 workout might cause overtraining in some athletes. The classes will begin on July 1st and run through Aug 9th. Monday & Wednesday Classes will be held at 7:30pm. Friday classes will be at 6:30pm.
Will nutrition be covered?
Yes. The most important factor in any strength & conditioning program is nutrition. We will discuss nutrition at the beginning of camp & provide suggested guidelines to follow for best results.
Will form & safety be covered?
Yes. In fact, it's the highest priority! Teaching our young athletes good workout habits is something they will use for a lifetime of fitness. You cannot perform if you're injured and exercising improperly teaches bad habits and limits progress. Proper form & function is essential...we will teach it, preach it, and reach it!
